The client had already implemented SAP and was looking for SCM solutions to overcome some of the challenges it faced in SAP MRP. SAP Material Planning did not allow them to consider vendor capacity, transport warehouse stock, etc. In addition, given that the forward visibility was just for 1-2 days, the client found it insufficient to plan materials from supplier having longer lead times. After implementing Planvisages SCM solution, the client was able to check the transport warehouse stock, supplier capacity and supplier calendar. In addition, the solution gave them greater visibility into their supply chain operations with the availability of multiple reports such as Final Procurement, Warehouse stock clearance and In-house surplus quantity.
