We enjoy doing things that create a difference to society in whatever small way we can. Towards this we have involved ourselves through active participation in organisation building and/or through volunteering support in socially relevant organisations.

Junior Achievement India (JA) is a not-for-profit organisation and a member of JA Worldwide. JA Worldwide™ is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about business, economics and entrepreneurship through experiential, hands-on programs. Established in 1919, JA Worldwide reaches approximately 7.5 million students per year in 305,000 classrooms and after-school, college locations. JA programs are taught in more than 113 countries around the world.

In India, JA started about 4 years ago and has over the last 4 years established presence in 6 cities and interacted with more than 50,000 students across 100+ institutions. JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential and providing a proven bridge between education and business by connecting industry professionals with the students. Industry volunteers from renowned organisations such as KPMG, HSBC, Citibank, Deloitte, Cognizant, Microsoft, GE, Exxon Mobil, are encouraged to conduct interactive sessions with students in different schools.

Ramesh takes care of the Region West operations and also actively volunteers for JA sessions.

Chaitanya started as a non-profit organization (NGO) in 2004. From 2004 till 2007, Chaitanya NGO worked in the area of primary education and in promoting small enterprises in rural areas. Chaitanya commenced its microfinance operations in October 2007 at Nayakanahatti village in Chitradurga district. For two years Chaitanya carried out its microfinance operations as a NGO. In October 2009, Chaitanya obtained a Non Banking Finance Company (NBFC) license from Reserve Bank of India for a newly registered company, Chaitanya India Fin Credit Pvt. Ltd.(CIFCPL). Since October 2009, CIFCPL is conducting microfinance operations as a for profit company.

Chaitanya’s mission is to improve the lives of low income families through provision of financial services. Chaitanya has reached about 9000 customers at this juncture and aims to reach at least 1 lakh households in the next 2 years.

Samit provides support and guidance in the organisation building efforts of Chaitanya.
